Are you currently a Pricing Analyst or a graduate keen to start/progress with your career?

This is a perfect opportunity to gain hands-on experience of actuarial work, the individual annuity market and to be a part of a dynamic team. You will be provided with the opportunity, to work closely with all areas of the annuity business (Propositions, IT, Operations, Distribution, Finance and Risk), to assist in optimising trading performance. Your work would feed into key commercial decision-making and so have visibility to senior management within this business.

A bit about the job:
The team specialises in pricing individual annuity products and we are aiming to improve our pricing strategy through the use of data analytics. As the Pricing Analyst, you will optimise annuity prices to outperform the competition in the individual annuity market and striving to exceed corporate plan targets and maintain and develop Aviva's annuity rate calculation systems (to make implementation of new rates easier and faster). Along with developing, enhancing and maintaining existing pricing models, assumptions and tools, ensuring they stay fit for purpose and in line with Aviva Group policies and standards.

Skills and experience we're looking for:
  • Highly numerate and analytical with proven capability to interpret data and develop solutions to complex problems
  • Capacity to work positively under time pressure whilst independently managing a varied and demanding workload
  • Confident communicator (both verbally and written) with good inter-personal skills to ensure the development of strong working relationships with many stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel. Data science skills and experience using either one of these SQL, VBA, Python, R would desirable but not essential
  • Prior pricing experience or knowledge of the annuity industry is advantageous but not a requirement
